For the chocolate mousse with cherry compote, first whip the cream powder and milk with the whisk of the hand mixer for 3 minutes on high speed until creamy. Refrigerate the cream for 1 hour. Drain the cherries, reserving the juice.

Bring the collected cherry juice from the jar to a boil. Stir the other 2 tablespoons of cherry juice with vanilla sugar and cornstarch and thicken the boiled juice with it. Fold in the cherries. Whip the cream and liqueur until stiff. Serve the chocolate mousse with the cherry compote and decorate.
