For the vegetarian rice meat, boil the rice once briefly in a saucepan with twice the amount of salted water and then finish cooking on low heat for 10-15 minutes.

(Alternative for inexperienced rice stoves: put the rice with water in a microwave bowl with a lid and cook in the microwave on medium-high for about 10 minutes. If after time is up, rice is still undercooked, microwave a few minutes longer. Add water as needed to allow it to finish cooking ;-).

In the meantime, finely chop the two types of onion, peel and finely dice the ginger, and put the garlic in the garlic press. Cut the sugar snap pea pods widthwise into strips. Finely dice the mushrooms, peel and finely dice the carrots.

Add oil to a wok and sauté all ingredients together. Push the mixture to the edge and crumble the tofu burger into the pan with your fingers. Make sure to sauté the tofu alone for 2-3 minutes first (turning occasionally), then mix with the rest in the pan and sauté on low for a bit longer.

Season to taste, it tastes even better with fresh herbs. Once the rice is cooked, gradually add to the mixture in the pan and season the vegetarian rice meat again if necessary.
