Instructions:

For the Pizza Striezel, prepare the dough according to the basic pizza dough recipe. Roll out the yeast dough into a rectangle on a floured work surface.

Cut the outer thirds of each rectangle with a knife every 2 cm. Spread the middle third with the pizza sauce and sprinkle with oregano.

Top with salami, mozzarella cubes and corn. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and finally top with capers.

Fold the dough strips diagonally across the filling to create a pretty braided pattern. Place the pizza striezel on a baking sheet with the baking paper and brush with the beaten egg.

Bake the Pizza-Striezel in the preheated oven at 190 °C for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
