For the Oriental punch, first cut the pomegranates in half crosswise and juice them on the electric citrus juicer.

Crush the cardamom pods and mix with the pomegranate juice.

Add the cinnamon sticks, the finely grated lime peel, the lime juice and the sugar.

Bring everything to the boil once briefly and then pour through a filter bag into a large container.

Mix the oriental punch with arrack, fill into portion glasses and serve each with 1 lime slice.
