Instructions:

For the motif cake, first make the dark dough. For this, cream the butter. Add the sugar and mix until creamy. Add the eggs and mix until smooth.

Add flour, baking powder and the milk and stir in. Then stir in the cocoa powder. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan and bake for about 40-45 minutes at 180 degrees. (varies from oven to oven)

Then remove the cake and let it cool. Cut the cooled dough into 7 thicker slices and cut out with any shapes.

For the light dough, cream the butter. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar and the rum. Again add the 3 eggs and mix to a smooth dough. Then again add the flour, baking powder and milk and mix until the mixture is nice and creamy. (See tip 1)

Pour the light batter into the bottom of the loaf pan. Place the cut out shapes close together on top of the light batter and carefully pour the remaining light batter into the loaf pan so that the shapes are completely covered. Bake at 180 degrees for about 50 minutes (depending on the oven).
