I got practically all the ingredients for my two summer snacking vegetables at the supermarket. The ingredients taste in total less than ten euros. Preparing the kohlrabi is a breeze, the zucchini needs a little bit more patience when frying.

Boil sugar in water once until it dissolves. Add vinegar. Remove the skin from the kohlrabi, being exceptionally precise in removing the hard, fibrous root part. Cut into cubes of about two centimeters edge length. Remove the peel from the ginger and finely dice. Put everything in a container and pour the vinegar solution so that the vegetables are covered. Leave to infuse for 24 hours. Drain to serve. Goes well with soy with sesame seeds.

Cut the tip and end of the zucchini into small pieces, then cut diagonal slices about one centimeter thick. Place the slices in a suitable bowl, sprinkle with salt and sprinkle with lime. Let stand for ten minutes, turning to the other side. Put flour on a flat plate, mix with cayenne pepper and a tiny bit of salt. In a deep plate, mix the eggs with two tsp of tarragon. Turn the zucchini slices first in the flour, then in the egg on the other side and fry them gradually in a frying pan with enough hot oil until they are lightly browned.
