Instructions:

Prepare the dough for the Christmas cookie tree. For this, crumble butter, flour, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon zest and 1 pinch of salt and knead with the yolks. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line 2 baking sheets with baking paper. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 5mm and cut out 21 stars each (diameter 7, 6, 5, 4 and 3 cm) from the dough.

Place the stars on a baking tray and bake in the oven (middle shelf) for about 10 minutes, remove and let cool. Spread the stars with jam, put them on top of each other and sprinkle the Christmas cookie tree with powdered sugar.
