A cake recipe for all foodies:

Cake: Cream butter and sugar together until creamy. Add vanilla and rose water, stir through and incorporate eggs evenly. Combine semolina, baking powder and baking soda, then add butter-sugar mixture and yogurt alternately, stirring until a nice soft dough forms. Butter a dish, pour in the dough, smooth it and decorate with the blanched almond kernels. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

In the meantime make the syrup. Syrup: heat water, add sugar and let it melt. Add the juice of one lemon and rose water and simmer for 10 min, stirring occasionally.

When the cake is done baking, remove it from the pan and let it cool a little, then pour the syrup over it and put it to cool. Cut into rhombs before serving.
