A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Cream soybean oil with light butter, sugar and the eggs. Mix flour with cinnamon, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt and stir evenly into the egg mixture with the ground walnut kernels.

Brush the large (1 3/4l) and small (3/4l) star-shaped cake pans with soybean oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour in the dough, smooth it down and bake in a heated oven at 175 °C /Gasher: level 2 for about 50 minutes.

Let the stars cool slightly in the molds, then turn them out onto a wire rack and let them cool completely.

In the meantime, knead marzipan and powdered sugar together and cut out small stars. Stir confectioners’ sugar with water to make a thick icing.

First coat the underside of the small walnut-cinnamon star with it, place it on top of the large star and press it down slightly so that both stick together well. Use the remaining icing to glue the marzipan stars and the walnuts onto the cake. Finally, dust everything together with powdered sugar.
