For Pink Burger Buns, preheat the oven to 220 °C and prepare a pre-dough (“Dampfl”): Mix yeast with water, oil and sugar and let rise for 5 minutes.
Mix the flour with the beet powder. Add egg, salt and flour mixture to the Dampfl and knead everything into a smooth dough.
Form the dough into a roll and divide into 12 pieces. Then “drag” each portion of dough into a ball: While doing this, loosely turn the dough balls between the hollow of your hand and work surface until the dough has a smooth surface.
Place the dough balls (not too close together!) on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover with a dish towel and let rise for 15 minutes.
Brush Pink Burger Buns with a little egg white (or water), sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake for 10 – 12 minutes.
