Peel potatoes, cut or slice into slices about 1¿2 mm thick. In a saucepan, bring vegetable stock to a boil and cook potato slices in it for 7¿8 minutes until semi-soft, stirring occasionally so that the potatoes don’t stick. Pour off the remaining liquid, season the potatoes with salt and pepper. Grease a suitable ovenproof dish with oil. Lay the potato slices in it in a shingle-like manner, sprinkle with some grated cheese. Spread some butter flakes on top and cover again with potato slices. Repeat this process until everything is used up. Mix whipped cream with milk, salt and pepper and pour over the last layer of potatoes. Spread remaining cheese on top and cover with remaining butter. Bake in oven preheated to 220 °C for 15¿20 minutes until golden brown.
