Instructions:

For the asparagus with ham, first cut off the bottom ends of the asparagus generously. Peel to below the tip.

Bring water with salt and sugar to a boil. Add the asparagus and bring to the boil briefly. Reduce heat and let asparagus simmer gently for about 10 minutes. Lift out.

Wrap each of the warm asparagus spears with a slice of ham.

Serve asparagus with ham.
