For the potato plait, wash the potatoes and boil them with a little salt and caraway seeds in some water for about 30 minutes. Peel the potatoes and press them through the potato press while they are still warm.

Mix the mixture with salt, nutmeg, chervil and cream. Fill the potato dough into a piping bag with a star-shaped nozzle and pipe it in the shape of a plait onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Brush the plait with the egg white and bake for about 5 minutes. Finally sprinkle the poppy seeds on top.
