A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Prepare:

Preheat the oven. Grease and flour the cup cake pan.

Filling:

Sift confectioners’ sugar, knead together with marzipan and pistachios on the surface and roll out a 35 x 10 cm rectangle between cling film. Cut the nougat into strips, place them lengthwise on the marzipan and roll them up. Carefully fold the marzipan roll into a wreath.

Mixing dough:

Beat soft butter in a wide bowl with a mixer until smooth. gradually add sugar and vanilla sugar, stirring until combined. Beat in each egg for about half a minute on high speed. Add flavoring.

Combine flour with baking powder, sift and fold in briefly on medium speed. Fill half of the batter into the mold and spread until smooth. MArzipan wreath on top, spread the remaining batter evenly over the top and smooth. Place the pan on the broiler in the lower third of the oven.

Top/bottom heat: 180 °C (preheated) Hot air: 160 °C (preheated) Gas: level 2 to 3 (preheated) Baking time: 55 min.

After baking, allow the cake to cool in the pan on a cooling rack for 10 minutes, then remove, turn out and cool. Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie at low temperature, cool a little and cover the cooled cake with it.
