For the doughnut muffins, dissolve yeast in milk, add sugar and let stand for 15 minutes. Knead the yeast mixture, vanilla sugar, flour, butter, egg and salt until the dough separates from the sides of the bowl.

Cover and let rise in a warm place until dough doubles in volume (30-60 minutes). Place paper cups in muffin tray.

Divide dough into 12 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball, flatten and place about 1 tsp jam in center.

Pinch edges together and form balls again. Lightly oil each ball and place in the molds. Let rise again.

Preheat oven to 175 °C top and bottom heat. When the muffins have risen significantly, after 30-60 minutes, bake for about 25 minutes.

Spray the still hot doughnut muffins with water and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Enjoy after they have cooled.
