Try this delicious cake recipe:

1. lay puff pastry sheets side by side and defrost.

2. clean apples, rinse, peel, remove core with apple corer. Cut apples in half and slice lengthwise into 1/2 cm thick wedges.

3. boil sugar with orange juice, juice of one lemon and washed mint stalks in a wide saucepan. Pour in apple slices and steep for about 10 min with the lid off.

4. heat electric stove to 225 °C.

5. roll out puff pastry sheets about 1/2 cm thick and cut out a round sheet ( 28 cm). Prick a few times with a fork and bake in the oven at 225 °C (gas: level 4) for about 15 minutes until crispy.

Melt the cooking chocolate in a warm water bath. Spread thinly on puff pastry base. Set. Cover cake like a roof tile with drained apple slices.

Whip egg whites with sugar and 1 pinch of salt until stiff. Place in a piping bag fitted with a medium-size nozzle and pipe in tight serpentine lines over cake. Grill over in the stove until golden brown. Be sure to bring to the table fresh.
