For the apple pie, peel and core the apples and cut half of them into small pieces. The others into larger wedges. Toss the large wedges in lemon juice and save.

Put the small apple pieces in a saucepan with sugar. Bring to a boil with a little water until the apples break down into mush, always stirring so nothing sticks.

When the apples are almost completely soft, mix the pudding powder in a little water (about 1/8 liter) and stir it in. Add cinnamon to the mixture and let cool. Now mix in some of the apple slices. Save the rest for the top layer as decoration.

First mix the flour with the baking powder, then add butter, eggs and sugar and make a batter. Pour 2/3 of this batter into a greased, large (diameter 28 cm) silicone cake pan.

Firm up the last third of the dough with a little flour and put it in a piping bag. Spread the filling on the cake base. Before that, pipe a border of dough inside around the cake pan and another ring of cake batter on top of the filling.

Put the remaining apple slices on top. Bake at 180 degrees for about 50 minutes.
