For the apple plum chutney, peel the onion and slice in half.

Peel the apples into quarters, remove the core and slice the apples.

Wash the plums, cut them open, remove the seeds and cut them into quarters.

In a large saucepan, boil the vinegar with the sugar and spices.

Add the fruit and cook on low heat for about half an hour. Stir frequently.

Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Pour the fruit mixture into hot rinsed jars and seal.

Store the apple and plum chutney in a cool, dark place.
