For the apricot breakfast porridge, scald and peel apricots, remove seeds and cut into pieces. Boil 200 ml of water, add five-grain flakes and cinnamon and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring well all the time.

Remove from heat, stir in nuts and vanilla sugar. Serve garnished with the apricots.
