For babies from 6 months

Stock up on iced carrots for quick cooking.

Rinse and peel the carrots and chop the ends. Divide carrots into rough chunks, fill with water in a large Kelomat and cook on speed 1 (Biogarden) for 8 min until tender. Steam immediately and blend in batches in a tall mixing bowl (or in a hand blender). Cool the puree and seal in portions of 130 to 150 g in freezer bags and freeze.

For the carrot rice, boil the long grain rice with water and cook at low temperature for 20 minutes. Now add the frozen carrot puree and heat until thawed. Season with oil.

For the mashed potatoes, cook the potatoes in their skins, peel them and press them. In the meantime, defrost the carrot puree in the microwave or on the stove, fold into the hot puree, egg yolks and butter.

Take one third of the carrots.

Tip: Do you know purple carrots? This is an old, very aromatic variety – why not use them for a change!
