Instructions:

For the dough, separate the yolks and egg whites. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Mix yolks, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar.

Fold the egg whites and flour into the yolk mixture and spread on a baking tray lined with butter paper.

Bake in the preheated oven on the middle shelf at approx. 170-180 °C for approx. 15-20 minutes.

After baking, turn the sponge out onto another tray and slowly pull down the butter paper, allow to cool.

Spread thinly with apricot jam, slice bananas and place on top.

Prepare the custard while the cake is baking. Mix about 1 1/2 pkg. vanilla pudding powder (that it will not be a very solid pudding) with 1 l milk according to pudding packer instructions.

Stir vanilla sugar, rum, margarine into the warm pudding with a whisk and let it cool a bit.

Then spread over the bananas. Depending on your preference, liquidize chocolate, e.g. 1-2 cups of Manner chocolate icing, pour over the top and let cool.

Serve the banana slices with sweetened whipped cream.
