For the beef in coffee, wash the beef, pat dry and cut into uniform cubes.

Heat butter in a saucepan. When it is golden and slightly foamy, brown the meat in it on all sides.

Add the onions cut into rings and the crushed garlic cloves and fry until the onions are light yellow.

Then remove the meat and onion rings from the pot and keep warm.

Sift the flour into the drippings, stirring constantly.

Once lightly toasted, add red wine, spices and coffee. Allow everything to boil down, stirring constantly, until the sauce is somewhat thick.

Return the meat and onions to the pot and simmer in the sauce, covered, over low heat for about 1.5 hours.
