Instructions:

Finely chop figs and soak in schnapps together with raisins for about 30 minutes.

Crumble yeast into 2 tablespoons lukewarm milk. In a large bowl, mix flour with eggs, sugar and the soaked dried fruit. Add yeast, pour in some lukewarm milk and knead a smooth dough.

Cover the bowl and put it in a warm place. Let dough rise for about 3 hours. In between, knead dough again a few times and let rise again.

In a large pot, heat plenty of oil. Using a tablespoon, form balls of dough and fry them in the hot fat until golden brown all over.

Remove the doughnuts and let them drain. Sprinkle with plenty of powdered sugar and serve immediately.
