For the cheese sticks, mix flour with salt and dry yeast. Heat the milk, margarine and lard and knead everything into a yeast dough.

Let the dough rise until double in bulk. Form 4 small loaves from the dough. Roll out each loaf and cut into 4 pieces.

Roll up from the wide side, brush with whisked yolk milk and sprinkle with cheese.

Bake the Kästestangerl at 190 degrees for about 20 minutes until the cheese is nice and crispy.
