A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Defrost the puff pastry slices as directed on the package. Line a baking sheet lined with parchment paper with 9 puff pastry slices so that the slices overlap. While doing this, press the edges well smooth and prick the dough a few times with a fork. Cut the remaining pastry disc into ten thin strips and place them as an edge to the edges. Pre-bake in the heated kitchen oven (E- kitchen oven 200, gas mark 3, convection oven 180) for 10 min. Rinse and pit the cherries. Separate the eggs. Mix egg yolks with curd cheese, 150 g sugar and vanilla pudding powder. Whip the egg yolks with the remaining sugar (50 g) until stiff and fold into the curd mixture. Spread the mixture on the puff pastry. Spread the cherries evenly on the curd mixture. Bake the cake in the heated kitchen oven (electric oven 180, gas mark 2, convection oven 160) for about 35 to 40 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
