Try this delicious cake recipe:

Stir together fluffy Kölln flakes, flour and dry yeast. Add egg, milk, butter, salt, lemon zest and vanilla sugar and make a smooth dough. Let this rise in a warm place with the lid closed for half an hour. Rinse and pit the cherries. Roll out the dough on a greased baking sheet. Spread cherries evenly on the dough. Cover and form repeatedly for half an hour. Stir curd with vanilla sugar, sugar, kirsch, butter and yolks until hearty. Beat egg whites until stiff and spread on top of curd mixture form. Sift cornstarch over the curd mixture and mix well. Spread curd mixture evenly over cherry cake and smooth. Bake at 180’C, middle shelf, for about 60 minutes. Sprinkle the cake with cinnamon sugar while it is still warm.
