Dough: Beat the soft butter (room temperature) together with 50 g vanilla sugar, sugar, cinnamon, rum and salt. Gradually add the egg yolks and continue to beat until you have a fluffy butter-egg mixture.

Separately, beat the egg whites with 100 g sugar until stiff. Gradually add the sugar. Fold the snow into the whipped butter-egg yolk mixture. Sift the flour with baking powder over it, then add the cooking chocolate and ground almond kernels and prepare the whole thing together until smooth Finally, fold in the cherries.

Grease a 28 cm ø conical cake pan and line the bottom with baking parchment cut out in the round. Spread the sliced almond kernels evenly on the bottom and pour in the dough. Bake at 190 °C top and bottom heat for 40-45 min.

Cool the baked cake for half an hour and then turn it out of the pan. Remove the baking parchment. Dust the surface lightly with powdered sugar.
