For the chocolate slices, coarsely chop chocolate, melt over a warm water bath. Separate the eggs. Cream butter, 100 g sugar and salt with the whisk of a hand mixer for 2-3 minutes.

Stir in egg yolks one at a time, beat egg whites until stiff, swirling in 100 g sugar. Stir the liquid chocolate into the butter mixture, fold in the beaten egg whites.

Mix flour, baking powder, cocoa and almonds, fold in dough and spread on a square baking pan (32 x 39 cm) lined with baking paper until smooth.

Preheat oven to 170 °C, put pan in oven, bake for about 15 minutes, remove, let cool on a cooling rack for at least 1 hour. Cut the base in half horizontally.

Spread one half with apricot jam, cover with other half. Spread top of cake also with jam, let dry slightly.

Heat glaze and spread generously over cake. Cut cake into about 24 square pieces (about 5 x 5 cm).
