For the currant cake, remove the washed currant from the stem. Beat the sugar, butter and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Then stir in the yolks one by one and add the milk.

Sift baking powder and flour and fold into the mixture.

Mix the currant into the mixture. Butter and flour a springform pan or a cake tray and fill with the mixture. Bake the currant cake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30 to 35 minutes.
