For the Erdäpfelschedl, peel and coarsely grate the potatoes. Put them in a bowl and mix with the other ingredients, except for the bacon.

Grease a large baking dish with butter and pour in the mixture. Place bacon slices on top of the mixture and bake for about 45 minutes at 180 degrees until light brown.
