Instructions:

Cut a piece of fresh ginger root about 2 cm long and peel it. Cut this into a few thin slices.

Preparation of ginger water can be done in several ways:

Pour hot boiling water over the slices and let them steep. Water can be added again and again. The taste will naturally diminish over time.

OR Bring the ginger slices to a boil and then simmer gently for about 10 minutes.

OR Grate the ginger finely. Add to boiling water and let steep, covered, for about 10 minutes. Then empty through a fine sieve.

The ginger water can be refined to taste with honey and/or lemon juice.

Ginger water can be drunk warm or cold.
