For the gnocchi with herb sauce, prepare the gnocchi according to the package instructions. Bring the milk, bay leaf, chopped garlic cloves and nutmeg to the boil. Turn off the heat, let it steep for 15 minutes and remove the bay leaf.

Melt the margarine in a saucepan, make a roux with the flour and mix with the milk mixture, stirring constantly to make a uniform sauce.

Season with salt and pepper, stir in the herbs and serve with the gnocchi .
