For the Hollerröster, bring an eighth of a liter of water with the sugar to a boil and simmer the spices for 5 minutes.

Stone the plums and cut them into small pieces. Add the elder and the plums to the boiling sugar water and let it simmer until everything is soft.

If desired, thicken with a little cornstarch. Flavor with a dash of rum and some lemon zest.

Hollerröster can be served warm or cold!
