Instructions:

Heat vegetable oil in a large saucepan. Add potatoes, onions and garlic and roast over low heat, stirring continuously, for about 5 min.

2. add garam masala, ground coriander and cumin and stir for one minute.

3.Mix in vegetable soup and chopped chili and let the mixture bubble up. Reduce the heat, cover the saucepan and gently simmer for 20 min until the potatoes start to fall apart.

4. add peas and do another 5 min. Mix in yogurt and season heavily with salt and freshly ground pepper.

5. pour into warm soup bowls, garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with warm bread.

Remove seeds before adding to soup. Always rinse hands after contact with chili peppers, as they contain essential oil that stirs the skin and burns the eyes.

Garam chili, cumin, masala and coriander form this soup its slight spiciness and spicy Indian flavor.

Tip: Use a regular or light yogurt yes as needed!
