Instructions:

Cream the butter and gradually add the sugar, egg yolks, salt, flour and milk.

Stir in the beaten egg white.

Heat butter or lard in a frying pan, melt a ladleful of batter in it and bake until golden.

Turn and divide into small squares with two forks.

Serve on a warm plate sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon and with slices of apple, cherries or peaches stewed in butter.
