For Krauthansl cook the sauerkraut not too soft. Mix minced meat with diced and soaked bread, finely chopped onions and spices.

Roast the grams and mix them with the sauerkraut. Grease a baking dish. Pour in half of the sauerkraut, spread the meat mixture on top and cover with the second half of the sauerkraut.

Whisk the sour cream, egg, salt and pepper and pour over the mixture.

Bake at 180 degrees to 190 degrees for about 50 minutes. Serve the Krauthansl with boiled potatoes.
