Instructions:

For the Linzer cookies, place the butter in a bowl and mix with a mixer or food processor until creamy. Gradually fold in the hazelnuts, sugar, egg, flour, baking powder and spices.

Knead the dough briefly with your hands and form into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. Grease the baking tray or cover with baking paper.

Roll out the dough on whole wheat flour and cut out cookies. Place the cookies on the baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes until golden brown.

Remove from baking sheet and place on a cooling rack. Spread half of the still hot cookies with jam and place a second cookie on top of each.

After cooling, dust the Linzer cookies with powdered sugar, either half or all over, as desired.
