Marinated Strawberries

Instructions:

Dissolve the sugar in the saucepan, add the fruit juice and cook for 5 minutes. Season the marinade with vanilla sugar and possibly with amaretto.

In the meantime, rinse the strawberries, remove the stalks and cut them into halves or quarters. Let the marinade cool down a bit, add the strawberries to the marinade and let them stand for 1-2 hours.

Slowly bring the whipping cream with lemon zest to a boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat, whisk in two yolks and sugar.

Beat the egg whites until stiff. Fold the cream (without the lemon zest) into the whipped cream and pour over the drained strawberries.
