Mashed Potatoes with Kale

Instructions:

Cut the kale into small pieces and place in a perforated steamer basket.

For 10 minutes at 100 degrees in the steamer form.

Peel the potatoes, cut into quarters and place in another perforated cooking dish. Place the mettendchen on top of the pre-cooked kale.

Cook potatoes and kale at 100 °C for 20 to 25 minutes.

Transfer the potatoes to a saucepan and mash them. Add butter and milk and season to taste.

Mix potatoes and kale and serve in a bowl with sausage.

Kale the cure-all Kale has always been said to have healing properties. Among the East Frisians, this used to go so far that they believed they could cure lame pigs with stolen kale. In Greece, it was believed that kale could cure the consequences of excessive drinking bouts. Even Hippocrates recommended kale for coughs and hoarseness. In addition, a clear soup made from kale leaves was said to be good. According to the Greeks and Romans, kale juice mixed with barley flour even helps against snakebite.
