Mashed Potatoes with Meatballs

Instructions:

Soak the bread in water, then squeeze well.

Peel the onion and chop finely.

Put the minced meat with the squeezed out bread, egg, half of the onion, some pepper, marjoram, salt and thyme in a suitable bowl and knead well.

Form small meatballs with a diameter of about 4 cm from the mixture.

Blanch the tomatoes with hot water, remove the skin, seeds and dice.

Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water until soft.

Fry the meatballs in a frying pan with oil on both sides.

Heat the milk and melt the butter in it. Strain the potatoes, press them through a potato press and pour the hot milk over them. Mix everything well and season with salt and nutmeg.

Sauté the remaining onions in a frying pan with oil. Add the diced tomatoes and toss well.

Chop the basil, stir it in and season the tomatoes with salt and pepper.

Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes and the tomatoes.
