For the New Year’s Eve Lucky Charms, separate the eggs. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla sugar until no more sugar can be felt or heard (when mixing).

Then add the liquids, i.e. oil and water to the egg-sugar mixture and beat again until fluffy. This process is important so that the cake is fluffy later.

Beat the egg whites with a little salt until stiff. Sift flour and baking powder into the egg-sugar mixture and stir in. Then FOLD in the beaten egg whites.

Brush a baking sheet with cold butter and then sprinkle with flour. Spread the cake mixture on the tray and bake in the oven.

Let cake cool thoroughly, then cut out round shapes with a large cookie cutter. Divide each cupcake in half and fill with jam.

Form small pink pig noses and ears from the marzipan. Then cover the cupcakes with chocolate. Place the noses and ears in the warm chocolate and let dry.

Finally, paint eyes and mouth with melted white chocolate and place the New Year’s Eve lucky charms in a large paper muffin tin.
