Try this delicious cake recipe:

Prepare: Grease rim of baking sheet and line bottom with parchment paper.

Roll out just under half of the dough for the bottom round, place in baking sheet. Form the remaining dough into a roll. Brush the edge of the dough base with a little water, place the roll on top, pull up with your fingers to about 1 cm above the edge of the baking tray, press the seam well smooth. Prick the base a few times with a fork and leave to cool for about half an hour. To blind bake, weigh down dough base with strips of baking paper and smaller baking sheet.

Pre-bake: 10-15 min. on the lowest rack of the oven heated to 220 °C, remove, lift out the smaller baking tray, let the base cool slightly in the baking tray. Reduce oven temperature to 180 °C.

Filling: stir through orange marmalade and water, heat, pull from the plate. Beat light butter or butter in a baking bowl until soft. Add powdered sugar, salt and eggs, stir until pale. Stir in jam and all ingredients up to and including almond kernels. Sift in flour and baking powder, mix well. Spread filling evenly on pastry base. Sprinkle with pine nuts.

Bake for 25-30 minutes on the lowest rack.

Total baking time: 35-45 min. Cool cake in baking tray. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Tips: – Instead of bitter orange- use sweet orange marmalade.
