A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Stir egg yolks until fluffy, add sugar and, while continuing to stir, add chocolate powder (no cocoa!) and unpeeled, ground almond kernels, and finally gently fold in the stiff egg white whites. Pour the mixture into a buttered and lightly floured cake pan. Bake for one hour.

The following day, cut the cake diagonally into two pieces thick on the spot and spread with the following almond paste : Boil a thick syrup from sugar and water. To the boiling syrup pour peeled, ground almond kernels and bring to a boil once briefly. Pour the amount into a suitable bowl and stir with a wooden club until it becomes whitish. While stirring, add juice of one lemon and finely grated and sieved stick of vanilla. Spread the still warm mixture on the cake base.

Frost the cake with chocolate icing made of bitter grated and heated sugar, chocolate, butter and sweet whipped cream. The icing must not make, heat strongly while stirring throughout.
