For Arme Ritter, first remove the crust from the rolls (or white bread slices), cut in half horizontally, spread with Powidl and reassemble.

Season the milk with rum, vanilla and cinnamon and soften the bread in it. Then dip in beaten eggs and quickly bake in hot fat until crispy, drain and sugar.
