For Arme Ritter with Powidl and cinnamon, first cut the toast slices in half diagonally. Spread half of the triangles thickly with Powidl, place the other half on top.

Whisk eggs, whipping cream, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Heat the butter in a frying pan. Dip the toast triangles into the egg mixture and fry in the butter on both sides until the egg has set and taken on some color.

Serve poor knights with powidl and cinnamon while still warm.
