Instructions:

For the pot pie, first prepare the dough. For the dough, mix and knead all the ingredients and then press them evenly onto the bottom of a prepared cake pan.

For the topping, strain the curd and mix it with the other ingredients (no beaten egg whites).

Spread the topping on the dough so that there is an elevation in the center to prevent the topping from sinking in as it cools.

Bake at medium heat for about 45 minutes. During the first half of the baking time, protect from excessive top heat.

Now spread the beaten egg whites over the curd and garnish with slivered almonds.

Then bake the pot pie again at top heat for another 10 minutes.
