For the potato pancakes from the waffle iron, first peel and grate the potatoes. Squeeze well in a tea towel so that the mass is as dry as possible.

Peel and finely chop the onion. Add to the potato flakes. Stir in the egg. Season with salt and nutmeg. If the mixture is still too wet, add a little potato starch if necessary.
