Instructions:

For the pyre, preheat the kitchen stove to 180 °C top-bottom heat.

Then melt 20 g of sugar in a medium-hot frying pan, turn light brown, add the almond kernels, remove from the fire immediately and mix everything together well. Leave to cool on a baking tray. This is how easy it is to make caramelized almond kernels.

Cut the stony rolls as well as possible into 1 cm thick slices, it is best to use light pastry without grains. Also Striezel or possibly Brioche would go likewise. Put everything together with the crumbs into the gratin dish.

Heat 300 ml of milk to lukewarm in a frying pan and mix the 2 eggs with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, vanilla sugar and the remaining sugar. Stir well with a whisk and leave next to the stove.

Peel the apples, cut them into eighths, remove the core and cut semi-narrow wedges. Stick these between the rolls.

Chop the now cold almond kernels very coarsely and also spread them evenly in the gratin dish, then pour everything together with the egg-sugar-cinnamon milk.

Bake on the middle shelf in the oven for three quarters of an hour.

After 40 minutes, you can also carefully activate the grill snake, if the pyre above should not yet be crunchy.
