For the sauerkraut, chop the onion and sauté in hot oil until translucent. Also chop the garlic and fry briefly (!). Add the sauerkraut and mix well, then pour in the water.

Now add bay leaf, caraway seeds and bouillon cubes, mix well and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes and finally season with salt and pepper.
