Instructions:

For the sauerkraut casserole, first wash and peel the potato.

Boil them in salted water and mash them with some milk. Heat the oil in a pot and steam the sauerkraut and grated apples for 30 minutes.

Add the sour cream and the chopped smoked meat. Grease a baking dish and cover the bottom with the thinly sliced bacon.

Fill half of the mashed potatoes and put the cabbage on top, cover with the rest of the mashed potatoes and bake in the preheated oven at 180° for about 45 minutes.

Serve the sauerkraut casserole.
